Construction Materials Testing Technician

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform field testing of construction materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry mortar/grout to ensure compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, and project specifications.
• Document field activities, observations, and test results accurately.
• Utilize company database and/or other field and laboratory information management systems for daily reporting and data entry.
• Calibrate field and laboratory equipment according to industry codes and standards.
• Communicate effectively with management staff, general contractors, and clients.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in construction.
• Preferred experience in testing or inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials.
• Strong communication skills (reading, writing, speaking) in English.
• Ability to routinely lift 40-50 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to work on uneven ground and around active construction sites, maneuvering equipment such as a loaded wheelbarrow.
• Proficient in data entry into multiple software applications via smart devices.
